My Story
Nola Garcia de Quevedo is often referred to as the modern day “Bionic Renaissance Woman.” Born and raised in Miami, Nola majored in psychology after she was voted most likely to succeed in high school. Being diagnosed with severe Rheumatoid Arthritis at 19 changed the course of her life. Despite multiple health challenges, Nola has attended college and availed herself of multiple educational opportunities over the past 40 years.
Nola’s passion has always been to make a difference in the lives of others, especially young people. In the past 20+ years, Nola has been immersed in the world of STEM education, robotics and engineering on many different levels. She was appointed by two different Florida governors to serve on the Florida Board of Professional Engineers for two terms. She founded the United States Alliance for Technological Literacy and worked at the College of Engineering engaging local educators and expanding their knowledge and understanding of Engineering and STEM careers.
